Hello, parents!
What a wonderful week it has been, full of learning, dubiously quiet writing sessions, and extreme mental exertion. As always, I, press extraordinaire, will inform you in the doings of your children.
MATH
During this week’s math sessions, we have been practicing using the partial quotients and traditional algorithms in our division. From this experience, we have learned how important following the procedure is to mastering these skills.
WRITING
This week in writing, we have had many opportunities to use interesting punctuation in our literary works, such as ellipses, commas, and hyphens. We have also accomplished many fruitful free-writes, in which the genre Horror has been a big hit for Mr. Basham’s class.
READING
This week in reading, we have been practicing using signposts to make inferences about upcoming texts.
PYP/INQUIRY
We have been concentrating on using our research skills to find information about certain questions of which originated from our cultivated experience at Outdoor School.
Next week we will be practicing dividing decimals and solving story problems involving decimals. We will also continue our punctuation study and put our research skills to use as we investigate the answers to our research questions for "Sharing the Planet".
Specials next week: Library, P.E., Music, Technology, Rhythms
