Hello, parents!
So here we are. It’s the last day before Spring Break. The weather’s been well-tempered, the birds are singing, and us kids just can’t seem to stop ourselves from looking out the window and wishing we were out there instead of in here. But nevertheless, duty calls. Though this week seemed incredibly long, we’ve made it through the math lessons, the silent reading, and the pyp discussions alive and well. And now I must survive one last writing session in order to inform all of you wonderful, supportive folks about what we’ve learned. Here we go!
This week in math, we’ve been working towards using ordered number pairs to identify points on a coordinate grid, and so far, I think we’ve mastered it. Great job, us!
This week in reading, we’ve been practicing taking think notes and identifying important information from the text to support our thoughts. We’ve used these skills to create a pro book review reading letter to Mr. Basham, and we also had to include two of our think notes about the book.
This week in writing, we’ve been practicing using all the techniques we’ve previously picked up in order to craft a great story to share with our writing partners.
This week in inquiry, we have been studying the function of the U.S. government, the types of governments, and how citizens impact the government.
Report Cards came home in Friday Folders today!
